XY - Roaring Skies, released on May 6, 2015, is one of the most iconic sets in the XY era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Centered around powerful Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon, the set introduced a wave of highly sought-after EX and Mega EX cards that quickly captured the attention of both competitive players and collectors. With stunning Full Art variants and high-powered mechanics, Roaring Skies remains a fan favorite and a staple in vintage Pokémon collecting circles.
M Rayquaza EX (105 Full Art)
The crown jewel of Roaring Skies, this Full Art Mega Rayquaza EX commands an impressive price tag nearing $530. Its breathtaking artwork, combined with its legendary status as one of the most powerful Mega EX cards ever printed, makes it the ultimate chase card in this set.
Rayquaza EX (104 Full Art)
The Full Art version of the standard Rayquaza EX sits comfortably as the second most valuable card in the set, valued at over $240. Its striking full-bleed artwork and the enduring popularity of Rayquaza as a Pokémon make it a must-have for serious collectors.
M Rayquaza EX (61)
The standard Ultra Rare printing of Mega Rayquaza EX still holds significant value at around $175. Beloved by competitive players during its time in the format, this card remains a staple piece in any Roaring Skies collection.
M Rayquaza EX (76)
This alternate Ultra Rare printing of Mega Rayquaza EX offers a different artistic treatment and retains strong market value at over $108, reflecting the consistent collector demand for all Rayquaza variants in this set.
M Latios EX (102 Full Art)
Rounding out the top five, the Full Art Mega Latios EX brings a touch of elegance to the set with its detailed artwork, currently valued just over $100 and appealing strongly to fans of the Eon duo.
Roaring Skies has demonstrated remarkable staying power in the secondary market, largely driven by the overwhelming demand for Rayquaza cards in all their forms. Prices across the set's top cards have remained elevated, and Full Art Ultra Rares in particular continue to appreciate in well-graded condition. For collectors looking to invest in XY-era Pokémon cards, Roaring Skies represents one of the most rewarding sets to pursue.
